ASSESSORS MEETING MINUTES
JANUARY 30, 2003
7:00 P.M. Called meeting to order. Present: Ellen Abelson, Paula Keefe and
Mark Mazur. Signed a bill voucher and abatement records.
7:05 P.M. Old Business
The Board noted that a group from Moose Hill Parkway will be meeting with the Board at 7:30 P.M. at our next Board meeting.
The Board reviewed and approved as amended our minutes from 1/16/03.
7:10 P.M. New Business
The Board read and then discussed a memorandum from the Finance Committee (FINCOM) requesting that we freeze all discretionary spending for supplies or contracted services.
The Board read and then discussed a memorandum from the FINCOM requesting revised fiscal year 2004 budgets. The budgets will represent 2.4% and 3.4% reductions from our total budget amount for FY2003.
The Board reviewed revised budgets that would meet the request by the FINCOM. The Board discussed these budgets and approved them for submission.
The Board reviewed and then approved a proposed cover letter to accompany the revised budgets being prepared for the FINCOM.
The Board reviewed a list of warrant articles from this spring’s town meeting. Several articles relate to property tax exemptions. The FINCOM has requested that we estimate the financial consequences of the adoption of these articles. The Administrative Assessor told the Board that he was putting together some information on these articles.
The Board took the following actions on fiscal year 2003 applications for abatement on the following parcels:
